James Dixon

20 May @ 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm

£6

When James Dixon was 11 he received a copy of “Neil Young Unplugged”, an accompanying book of “How to Play”, and a harmonica and neck holder…and a lifelong love was born. Often ranked 2nd only to Bob Dylan for his lyric writing, James follows on from his good friend Gary McCausland’s Dylan session in 2022 with a Neil Young session this year.

In a set which will feature both Young’s work and James’ originals to show some of the inspiration, songs to focus on his 70s catalogue from Buffalo Springfield, Harvest, After the Goldrush through to On the Beach, Rust Never Sleeps and Trans.

James Dixon is a singer songwriter based near Bude and has performed across the UK and Europe recently supporting Seasick Steve on his tour. He is also a guest teacher at Guitar Retreats, musical director of the Barrel at Bude music venue and happy long time collaborator with local guitar maker Dirtbox Guitars.
