History of The Castle

Mark reveals the colourful lives of the different residents of The Castle since it was built in 1830, picking out key facts and notable events from their time at The Castle and how these individuals played a part in the community of Bude. The talk will also touch on when the Council took over through to the creation of the Heritage Centre we see today. Mark has been the Manager of The Castle now for almost six years where he has strived to make it a place where people want to visit time and again. His moto has always been, ‘There’s always something going on at The Castle’, thus making it a hub of culture.
