Sunday Funday - 19th May 2024
This year, Bude Lit Fest will be finishing with a FREE Family Fun Day on The Castle Lawn. This is a great event to bring together everyone who has taken part in the festival this year, including artists, volunteers, schools, sponsors and everyone who has attended events. If you were unable to attend any of the events this year, Sunday Fun Day is the perfect way to get involved with the festival.
Sunday Fun Day will be a relaxed day, full of dressing up, music, games, book sales, raffle prizes and much more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Café Limelight has you covered with a delectable selection of lunches, cakes, beverages, and ice-creams available throughout the day.
None of this would be possible without our remarkable Lit Fest team and ‘bookworm’ volunteers, who will be lending a hand throughout the day and adding to the fun with their participation in our whimsical Character Treasure Hunt. This whole event has been presented and supported by Bude-Stratton Town Council, who wanted to ensure that the Sunday Funday was a FREE community event!
We hope that you find plenty to entertain you and ensure that you make memories for years to come. Please note that we have a indoor wet weather plan, should the weather decide to not cooperate. All events will be moved inside at The Ivor Potter Hall at The Parkhouse Centre.

In this practical introductory workshop, we’ll be unravelling the mysteries of Tarot to reveal a rich symbolism hidden in the Major Arcana.
The Fool, The Magician, The Lovers, The Devil, The Empress, Death, Strength and the Wheel of Fortune are just a few of the iconic images to be explored.
With practical participation encouraged, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment and discover how relevant Tarot can be to your own daily life.
The archetypes of Tarot have been a source of inspiration to many writers, including 20th century poets William Butler Yeats, T.S Elliot and Sylvia Plath, and the founder of Analytical Psychology Carl Jung.
Tarot cards can be a resource for understanding and supporting ourselves and others, a well-spring of creative ideas and multi-layered perspectives. Their uncanny ability to spontaneously mirror our innermost thoughts was summed up by Jung: ”Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see”’.
Hermione will be in The Blanchminster Room at The Castle Heritage Centre. Book your FREE ticket here.
